The Humboldt County Development Association strives to provide opportunities for growth and workforce development as an essential focus area. HCDA creates and implements programs designed to attract and retain the next generation workforce in addition to programs that help build the future talent pipeline.
HCDA implements a high school internship program which allows students to intern for an entire semester in one of three career fields of their choice. Career Readiness Programming
HCDA implements a program for 6th and 8th grade middle school students that provides career readiness education and activities. Topics include: Conflict Resolution, Team Building, Communication & Relationships, Creative Problem Solving and many more. This program seeks to helps students understand the importance of soft skills and how they relate to career placement and advancement.
HCDA offers an advanced leadership program for existing workforce to enhance leadership skills, learn more about the community and leadership areas and network with other professionals and community leaders.
